Hello Mr.Raphael
If you are using Windows XP you have to update to Windows 7 (Vista and above have all the drivers built in). If you are using Windows 8 and later version you do not need Windows 7.
You can update the drivers on Windows 7 by Clicking Start, clicking Control Panel, and then clicking System and Maintenance. Select the Hardware and Devices panel, click on Device Manager, and then click on the Device Manager tab. Double-click on the Universal Serial Bus Controllers, and then expand the tab to see the RealTek 8201 model. Right-click on the device name and select the Update Driver Software option. Select the CD-ROM option, and then click the Browse My Computer button to locate the Topcon USB Drivers. Click the Driver tab, and then select the Topcon USB driver and click the Install button.
If you are using Windows 8.1 and later you should not need to update your drivers.

Hi Raphael
You should download the HASP software from the Topcon website for your particular operating system.
I would recommend following this link:
for installation instructions for Windows 8.1 or later version, you do not need the Windows 7 drivers.

Hello Don,
There are many tutorials on the internet about the USB key for TOPCON tools. I found the following one by a little bit complicated. 01e38acffe

The value of this key is hexadecimal, so you may want to enter it into your calculator.

Topcon has also released Topcon's FieldProg.exe application for Windows. Topcon field prog allows you to import and export Topcon's FieldProg file format. FieldProg files support 'consolidation', 'update', 'comment' and 'conversion' functions. They are also compatible with MatLab, Mathematica, Visual Basic, C and Java.
Topcon FieldProg is available for Windows, Mac and Linux. You can download FieldProg for Windows from the Tools homepage at
Topcon FieldProg is based on Matlab and Mathematica. You can find out more on

Topcon's standard field format can be imported from or exported to other formats.
Topcon FieldProg supports the following field file formats:
1. MAT-formatted file (no line breaks)
The simplest field format to use. A Mat-formatted file is a single text file where all values are entered as strings.
2. TIF (Topcon Information Format)
This is the standard format used to export Topcon field data to Topcon's programming tools. The field files in this format are used by Topcon's programming tools to export Topcon field data to other programs. You can read more about the TIF format at
3. SDC (Stacked Data Center)
The data contained in a field file in the SDC format is organized in layers. A field file in the SDC format is a MAT-formatted file with one additional layer. An SDC file consists of one or more.mat files. Each file contains a different layer of information.
For example, a field file in the SDC format with 3 layers is three MAT files. In layer 1, the files have the same name as the three layers, for example:
